Hand Generated Type

Free movement hand generated type experiments were created to understand the process of building a composition on paper before completing it on a computer. This process allowed a lot more freedom and an amusing playfulness

Wild

Wild was made to be free and colorful. The purpose is to express being wild, within the wild. Wild was composed on white drawing paper in pencil, then traced with a micron pen. It was then scanned, imported into Adobe Illustrator, outlined and colored in. A texture was added in Adobe Photoshop for the finishing touch.

Dracarys

Dracarys is inspired by the show Game of Thrones. In the show, dracarys is another word for fire. It is a command given by the Queen of Dragons when she wants her dragons to spew fire. Dracarys was composed on white drawing paper in sharpie. It was then scanned, imported into Adobe Illustrator, outlined and placed over an orange background. A texture was added in Adobe Photoshop for the finishing touch.

Awesome Life

Awesome Life was an experiment with different types of hand generated fonts that I could produce. I wanted to create a dripping font and had a lot of freedom with this design. It was composed on white drawing paper in micron pen. It was then scanned, imported into Adobe Illustrator, outlined and placed over a blue background and slightly colored in.

The Terror

The Terror was inspired by the tv show Longmire and it’s deputy sheriff character Vic Moretti. She is nicknamed “The Terror”. This poster was designed to give a rustic and rough feel to the character. It was composed on white drawing paper in sharpie. It was then scanned, imported into Adobe Illustrator and outlined. A repeating background was then added to the design.
